The Chief Minister on Tuesday distributed ration cards to beneficiaries under the newly formed Jorhat Assembly constituency at the Jorhat District Sports Association ground. It was during this meeting that the people of Jorhat were informed about some of the most anticipated development projects to be launched soon in Jorhat city.
New ration cards will be given to 6,328 beneficiaries of Jorhat constituency. Under the Food Security Act, 23,100 beneficiaries of Jorhat assembly constituency will be benefited. Since January 16, assam has made arrangements to provide ration cards to 42 lakh new people belonging to 10 lakh families, the chief minister said.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister distributed new ration cards to 20 beneficiaries in a symbolic manner. Subsequently, ration cards will be distributed to the remaining beneficiaries in the panchayats. On the other hand, the Arunodaya scheme will also be provided to the beneficiaries who have ration cards soon, the Chief Minister said.
