Kashmir is now covered with snow. In Kashmir, the temperature dipped below zero leading to heavy snowfall and avalanches. In Himachal Pradesh too, more than 250 roads have been closed due to heavy snowfall and avalanches.
Temperatures were below normal at many places in Punjab and Haryana as well. The national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 20.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi was 8.2 degrees Celsius. Several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar, were experienced in the warmest January in 43 years, according to official data.
The temperature in Srinagar reached 2 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The minimum temperature at the skiing resort in Gulmarg in north Kashmir dropped to minus 12 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the tourist resort in Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded the lowest low of minus 11.9 degrees Celsius. All in all, there is only snow everywhere in Kashmir now. The tourists are being called out in Kashmir.
