Ending all speculations, Nitish Kumar finally recaptured Bihar’s Masnad Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday won the trust vote in the assembly while the Rashtriya Janata Dal led by Tejashwi Yadav left the House. The NDA government won the trust vote with 130 votes.
The trust vote comes two weeks after Nitish merged himself with the RJD and the Congress and the NDA. Meanwhile, three Rashtriya Janata Dal MLAs Prahlad Yadav, Neelam Devi and Chetan Anand also moved to NDA block.
Speaking in the Bihar Assembly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, “We worked for every section of the society. Earlier the RJD used to do only communal politics. There was no development in Bihar before 2005. “
Speaking ahead of the trust vote in the Bihar Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said former chief minister Lalu Prasad’s family was a “symbol of corruption”.
Congress MLA Dr Shakil Ahmad Khan said, “Despite winning, their (BJP-JD(U) heads are lying down in shame, they have no answer to any question. This happens when politics is done without deception and ideology. ’’
Tejashwi Yadav, a former deputy chief minister of Bihar, said, “I feel bad for the JD(U) MLAs because they have to reach out to the people and answer. Someone will ask you why Nitish Kumar took oath three times, what will you say? In the past you used to criticise them (BJP) and now you are praising them, then what will you say? We (RJD) will say that we have given jobs. “
