The farmers, led by the samyukta kisan morcha non political, will take out a rally to Delhi at 11 am today, refusing to accept the Centre’s proposal on the guarantee of minimum support price. For this, they have brought heavy machinery like hydraulic cranes, JCB and bulletproof pokland to the Shambhu border.

A large number of masks have also been arranged to protect themselves from the opening of tear gas. It is to be noted that thousands of farmers have started marching towards Delhi from February 13, but after engaging in clashes with security forces, they are camping on the Shambhu and Khanouri borders on the Punjab-Haryana border.

Unfazed by the Centre’s proposal in talks with the government, farmers at the Shambhu border on Wednesday, February 21, completed preparations for the march to Delhi. Young farmers from Punjab brought the JCB and Pokland machines on Tuesday. These machines were brought in in the middle of the tractor March, so that no one could stop them on the way.

The Centre estimates that around 14,000 people, including 1,200 tractor-trolleys, 300 cars, 10 mini buses, have gathered at the Punjab-Haryana border to protest strongly at the Punjab-Haryana border. In a letter to the Punjab government, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) pointed out that the deteriorating law and order situation in the state over the last few days was a matter of concern and urged them to take strict action against those violating the law. At the same time, the Punjab-Haryana High Court has ordered an end to the farmers’ march.

Legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for farmers’ crops, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations, pension for farmers and agricultural labourers, farm loan waiver, no increase in electricity rates, withdrawal of police cases, relief for victims of lakhimpur kheri violence of 2021, relief for the victims of the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

They informed the Centre that they would not accept anything less than the ‘C-2 plus 50 per cent’ formula for MSP. C2 + 50 per cent formula adoption can easily lead to a 10-45 per cent increase in the current MSP.
