Delhi Chalo

Farmers ‘Delhi chalo’ postponed for two days. The decision was taken after a farmer died at the Khanauri border in Haryana. Trade unions have strongly condemned the death of protesting young farmer Shubha Karan Singh and announced that February 23 will be observed as Black Day.

It is to be noted that the farmers of Punjab have been protesting for a long time, raising various demands. They have already had four rounds of talks with the government but a solution is yet to come out. Meanwhile, the government has invited farmers for a fifth round of talks.

The All India Kisan Sabha, a farmer’s organisation, alleged that a farmer died in the midst of the clashes. However, the Haryana Police has denied the allegations.

The police took various steps to stop the protesters. They used tear gas, rubber bullets, etc. In the meantime, several were injured. A doctor in Patiala said the three youths were brought to the hospital. Two of them are currently stable but one died before being brought to the hospital.
