The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is planning to send four people from across the country to the moon on a human spacecraft called ‘Gaganyaan Mission’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kerala on Tuesday to inaugurate the technical unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation. The Prime Minister announced the names of four spacecraft after visiting the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Group captain Prashant Balakrishnan Nair, Ajit Krishnan, Angad Pratap and Wing Commander Subhanshu Shukla have been selected as astronauts on India’s first human mission to space. These four astronauts have been trained at the Space Agency’s Astronaut Training Centre in Bengaluru.
