Many may not disagree to say that Hinduism has spread rapidly during the days of the BJP government. The BJP government, which ended centuries of rhetoric and completed the construction of the Ram temple, also often talked about building a Hindu Rashtra.
The BJP is also planning to take over the throne once again in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections by doing Hindu politics.
But behind this Hindu politics of the BJP, the number of Christians in different states of India as well as in the North-East has increased at a very fast pace. Over the last few years, the list of people converting to Christianity in several districts of Assam has grown rapidly.
There is not a single Christian minister in Modi’s Union cabinet, but around 27 MPs in both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha are Christians. Most of these MPs are from the Northeast. According to the latest census, 2.3 per cent of india’s population is Christian. There are about 27 crore 8 lakh 19 thousand 588 Christians in India.
It will be surprising to know that 31.4% of the world’s population is Christian. Most of the people in most western countries of the world are Christians.
Although the influence of Christianity in India has been low, the influence of this religion has increased at a very rapid pace in recent decades. The influence of this religion has intensified with the passage of time, especially in Assam.
According to the most recent data, 3.74 per cent of the total population in Assam has converted to Christianity. According to the 2011 census, the total number of people converting to Christianity in Assam is 11.66 lakh.
