As the Lok Sabha election day draws to a close, the ruling BJP as well as the Congress have also announced several schemes. In particular, to attract women voters, the ruling BJP government has also passed laws to reserve women’s seats in Parliament in parallel with various schemes. Rahul Gandhi has devised a strategy to hurt Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s women vote bank policy.
The BJP has announced rs 1 lakh in cash a year for poor women and 50 per cent reservation in central government jobs to break this vote bank. It is to be noted that the Central Government as well as the State Governments have been taking various schemes to attract women voters.
The Arunodaya scheme has been given Rs. 1250 per month to women and has also been giving money to women’s self-help groups through various schemes. Recently, the Lakhpati Baideo scheme has been launched.
But this is the first time the central government promises to reserve 50 per cent seats for women in jobs. Rahul Gandhi is trying to woo women voters by making these promises on the eve of elections.
The Congress MP has announced a total of five justices in the ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Apart from this, various promises have also been announced in the past for the establishment of justice or equality for the poor, the unemployed and the farmers. But such a big announcement for women did not come from Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi announced five justices for women in Maharashtra amidst the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. He said that through Mahalakshmi Geranti, a woman from a financially weaker family of the country will be given Rs 1 lakh a year.
There will be 50 per cent seats reserved for women in central government jobs to give full rights to half of the population. The monthly allowances of anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and mid-day meal cooks will be doubled through the Shakti Samman project.
