This is the story of a strange village. A story that no one might easily believe. Because what has been going on in this village over the years is really something no one can believe at all. Umoja is a strange village in Kenya’s Samburu region. A village that has been inhabited only by women for 30 years.
There is no male entry into this village. Because the women themselves have made arrangements to ban the entry of men in this village. But despite the absence of male entry, women live their own lives.

They are giving birth to children every year, not someone. As a result, heredity is also common. Society is changing. But this strange village is still Kenya’s wonder.

The incident took place in 1990, when 15 local Tribal women were allegedly raped by the British army. According to the complaint, the women were displaced and settled in this village. Since then, various women who have been victims of male violence have come here and started living together.

Some may be victims of child marriages, some are victims of domestic violence, they all have formed a society by holding hands. A society which belongs only to women. Where men have no access.
At present, there are about 250 women living in this village. But the question arises as to how the women of this village give birth to a child. The answer lies in the real question of women’s freedom. The question of choosing one’s partner. The women of this village leave the village and find the man of their choice and engage in intercourse with him.
They then conceive and give birth. There is no place for any relationship, marriage, etc. Women choose male partners only to have children. There are primary schools in this village. There is a cultural centre. Apart from this, there are more than one sighting place in the village. Tourists come to see them.
Most of the people in this village make a living depending on the expenses of those tourists. The tickets that tourists buy and enter the village and inspect different parts of the village, know history, the money comes to the people of the village from the price of the tickets that those tourists have cut.

But it seems to be the ideal example of feminism to a patriarchal society. Women have been able to build a society without men.
