Sonam Wangchuk's hopes poured in, Modi govt didn't pay heed to Sonam's protest

Climate activist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike for the last 21 days to protect Ladakh, ended her hunger strike on Tuesday evening. He consumed only saltwater during the hunger strike, demanding statehood for Ladakh and inclusion of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
Ending the protest after 21 days of such strong protests, he asserted that his protest will continue in the interest of protecting Ladakh. “I will continue to fight for constitutional safeguards to protect Ladakh and the political rights of the inhabitants of Ladakh,” he said.
In the last 21 days, the people of All Walks of Life in Ladakh have supported this protest of Sonam Wangchuk. Almost every day, thousands of people gathered with him at the protest site. Hundreds of protesters spent the night under the open sky with Sonam Wangchuck.
As he concluded his hunger strike today, thousands of people from different parts of the Union Territory gathered at the protest site. Meanwhile, the women of Ladakh also announced that they would go ahead with the hunger strike started by Sonam Wangchuk. This time the women of Ladakh will go on a united hunger strike for their due rights.
As the hunger strike ended today, Sonam Wangchuk also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfill the promises she made to the people of Ladakh. In a video uploaded by him on X, he also appealed to the people of Ladakh to think and vote in this general election.
Sonam started her hunger strike from March 6. The hunger strike, which began after talks with the Apex Body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance in Leh, did not gain widespread attention in the national media, but in the final stages came to the media for widespread discussion through social media. These two organisations in Ladakh have also been protesting demanding full statehood for Ladakh and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule.
Though the hunger strike ended, Sonam called for fulfilling a total of five demands centred around Ladakh and said she would continue to protest for the implementation of these demands.

Apart from giving full statehood to Ladakh, inclusion in the Sixth Schedule, his other three demands are the creation of separate Lok Sabha constituencies covering Leh and Kargil districts, land to local people and local government jobs rights in Ladakh and the formation of the Public Service Commission in Ladakh.
