The Election Commission (ECI) is gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The Election Commission has already reviewed the preparations.
The Election Commission of India has said that around 96 crore voters will be eligible to vote in the upcoming elections. For this, 12 lakh polling stations will be set up. 1.5 crore staff will be deployed to hold elections at all these centres. Of the 96 crore eligible voters, 47 crore are women, the ECI said.
According to the ECI, about 1 crore 73 lakh of the total eligible voters are in the age group of 18 to 19 years. There are 81 lakh disabled voters. 1 crore 75 lakh voters are 80 years of age or above. Out of 1.75 crore voters above 80 years of age, about 2 lakh voters are above 100 years of age.
