Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress is in shambles. There has been some sort of rift within the Congress over Rakibul Hussain’s candidature in Dhubri, especially in the Lok Sabha elections. After Kamalakshya Dey Purkayastha and Basanta Das, MP Abdul Khaleque and other MLAs have been seen protesting against the candidature of the constituency.
MP Abdul Khaleque has opposed rakibul hussain’s candidature in Dhubri and demanded candidature of locals in Dhubri. He added, “Rakibul Hussain is asking for a ticket only from Nagaon and does not want to do so in Dhubri. My constituency is divided into three parts, so the party will decide. ’’
He said the candidates will be finalised through a phase in the Congress. In Dhubri, ajmal is not wanted by the public, so a local deserving person should be given a ticket by the party. He also asks if the reason has to be explained even if he has a cup of tea with Pradyut Bordoloi.
“The state leadership has to bind everyone together in the swing of unity,” he said. Even if a parrot goes, it hurts the Congress. The power of breaking the wheel can not win any run, only a united force can win the run. The party has to stay united. One has to hold if someone from the team wants to go. At least Abdul Khaleque is not the chief minister’s man, even if someone else is a chief minister’s man. ’’
