According to the legislator, TikTok should be closed in America. 352 votes in support of the bill introduced in the House of Representatives and 65 voted against the Bill.
China has also triggered a backlash after the bill was passed by the House of Representatives. The video sharing app which has become increasingly popular has had to face the US after India.
There are currently 170 million TikTok users in the US. But whether the bill is passed in the Upper House Senate will be symptomatic later. But it is certain that strict action will be taken against TikTok.
“Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act,” President Joe Biden said after receiving the most votes in support of the TikTok shutdown at the House of Representatives. The White House has already reported that the president will sign the rules.
If the bill becomes a law, it will have to be deleted from the Apple and Google App Stores in the US within 180 i.e. 6 months. This has to be done byteDance, tiktok’s main associate company.
According to public representatives, stopping such anti-national apps will hurt the enemy. This step has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the people of the country.
China has also strongly condemned the US action and has also issued a strong warning to the US. China says that america has not found evidence that TikTok has become a threat to america. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin condemned it as “abusive behaviour”.
It was also alleged that when Trump was president, he tried to take control of TikTok from ByteDance. Which an American court had blocked Trump’s decision.
