Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the country’s longest sea bridge Atal Setu. This bridge connecting Mumbai to Navi Mumbai has been named Atal Setu.

On the other hand, governor and chief minister of Maharashtra were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Built at a cost of around Rs 18,000 crore, the length of this bridge is 21.8 km. With this new bridge, a distance of 20 hours can now be covered in 20 minutes.

It is learnt that 1,77,903 metric tonnes of iron has been used for the construction of this bridge. The construction of this bridge has used iron weighing 17 times more than the Eiffel Tower.

The bridge starts from Sewari in south Mumbai. From here the bridge ends at Thane Creek, Shivaji Nagar, Jassi and Charlie in Navi Mumbai.

The construction of this bridge started in 2018. According to a source, toll tax ranging from Rs 250 to Rs 300 will have to be paid on this bridge. This bridge can cover 70,000 vehicles in a day.
