Congress worker alleged that the transport department had illegally seized buses carrying supporters of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. There have been serious allegations that the buses were seized because they came to the Congress programme. It is to be noted that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has been facing many challenges since his entry into Assam. Finally this Nyaya Yatra has reached Guwahati on Tuesday.
It is to be noted that congress leaders and workers who had come to participate in this march had to shout. According to the complaint, buses carrying Congress workers from different places in Kamrup district have been seized and lodged in Palashbari police station by the transport department. It is learnt that the buses have been seized by the transport department at various Ajuhat after checking the documents of the buses.
As a result most of the Congress workers have to go back to their homes from Adbat or stop waiting for other vehicles. While two of them go to the padayatra program with their own arrangements, many people stay outside Palashbari police station. On the other hand, according to some drivers, the transport department had earlier allowed the buses to go again without paying the fine for finding discrepancies in the documents of the buses, but this time they did not give it.
