Criticising the Modi government, MP Gogoi said, “The Prime Minister did not express his desire to visit the state even once when Manipur was burning. On the contrary, Rahul Gandhi has reached Manipur for the second time and reached out to the people of the state.”
He again referred to the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra and said that this yatra is not an election journey but an ideological one and this journey is a journey taken out against injustice of the Modi government.
Meanwhile, replying to a question from reporters about reports that he would contest the elections from Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency instead of Kaliabor, he said, “What the top leaders of the party say will be. Any gossip will come out. We call them Page 3 News in Delhi. We give more importance to the news on the front page. Such news will continue to come out.”
Alleging that the Election Commission has not met the leadership of the Indie alliance, he said, “The Central Election Commission does not belong to any particular political party. We want to approach the Election Commission only by taking people’s word. But they do not want to listen to the people or know.”
