The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi entered Assam on Thursday. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Amguri in Sivasagar district to Jorhat via Marioni. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has thrown words at Rahul Gandhi one after the other over the yatra.
The chief minister also warned the Congress that travelling through Guwahati this time would lead to the wrath of the law. “The Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra can travel through Guwahati, no one will stop but a case will be registered and the person behind it will be arrested after two to three months,” he told reporters on Thursday.
He added, “If anyone disobeys the law then immediately the government will not take any action. But after this, two persons will be arrested after two to three months by registering a case. The government will arrest those who are inciting them to travel through Guwahati. I know two people are instigating. I have people who are reporting inside the Congress. So I will arrest those two people later.
Chief Minister Sarma also said that permission will not be granted for this journey through Guwahati as there are private hospitals including medical colleges. Permission will be given for any other route other than this. But if there is an attempt to make this journey forcibly from inside the city of Guwahati, then immediate action will not be taken. The person behind it will be arrested after two to three months.
He added: “I have also helped the Congress not to go through Guwahati but will be abused later. If the law is broken then I will not stop it. I will pick up the two who have to be picked up after filing a case.”
