Why is PM Modi silent on the issue of unemployment ? Prime Minister Modi said that in the campaign meetings for the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, action will be taken soon regarding india’s unemployment problem.

The Modi government has promised to provide government jobs to lakhs of youth annually and various employment to millions of people.

But in the campaign meetings for the 2024 general elections, there is no mention of resolving the problem in the face of any BJP leader or minister.

Only the Prime Minister highlighted the ram temple, the protection of Hinduism, the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019, the work done by the Congress from independence to 2014.

But the Modi government is silent on the issue of unemployment. The number of millions of educated unemployed in India is increasing every year.

According to Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy in short CMIE, the number of unemployed in India has increased to 8% as of Febuary in 2024.

Political parties across the country are campaigning for the elections. . The rulers and the opposition across the country are all pushing for the election campaign.

On the contrary, with regard to fundamental problems, but the rulers and the opposition are all silent.

According to recent reports, 36 per cent of the students of the current batch of IIT Bombay have not yet received placement. It is to be noted that ‘placement’ is going on at IIT Bombay.

For this, many reputed companies from india and abroad have come to IIT Bombay. Thirty-six per cent of the registered students participating in this placement have not got jobs.

Over 2,000 students had registered for the ongoing ‘placement’ at IIT Bombay. Of these, 712 students have not got jobs so far.

It is to be noted that this ‘placement’ process going on at IIT Bombay will continue till the month of May.

Students from computer science and engineering stream of IIT Bombay have higher demand in various companies. Every year 100 per cent of the students in this stream get jobs.

But this is the first time that students of this stream have not got jobs. Last year, 32.8 per cent of iit bombay students did not get jobs. This year the number has gone up even more. However, 1,485 students from this year’s IIT have got jobs.

According to the information released, officials concerned with the placement cell of IIT Bombay claim that due to the global economic slowdown, it has become difficult to invite companies for the placement season.

Not only Bombay IITs but almost all the IITs in the country have seen a decline in the number of multinational companies to provide jobs to students. International institutes are yet to come to the new IITs.

In such a situation, therefore, the question arises, what is the condition of the students of other educational institutions if this is the condition of an institution like IIT Bombay?

In such a situation, the lack of seriousness of the leaders of the government and political parties on the issue of increasing unemployment, lack of employment, wastage of human resources has made the students, parents and the conscious public worried.

How to determine the number of unemployed

Unemployment rate = unemployment / civil labour force or unemployment rate = Number.
                                                 or
Unemployed Persons / (Number of Employed Persons + Number of Unemployed Persons)

Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation

According to the latest Labour Force Survey (PLFS) of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the graduate unemployment rate has come down to 13.4% in 2022-23. The unemployment rate for graduates aged 15 years and above has come down from 14.9% to 13.4%.

Chandigarh has the lowest unemployment rate of 5.6%, followed by Delhi at 5.7%. In contrast, Andaman and Nicobar Islands have the highest rate of 33%, Ladakh 26.5%, Andhra Pradesh has 24%, Rajasthan has 23.1%, Odisha has 21.9%.

According to the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE)

According to the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), India’s unemployment rate as of March 2023 is 8.11%. In urban areas, the unemployment rate was 7.93%, in rural areas it was 7.44%.
The states with the highest unemployment rate in India include Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir. It may be recalled that the unemployment rate in India rose from 8.00% in November to 8.30% till December 2022.

If we look at the problem of unemployment, the number of unemployed in India was 5.41% in 2008, 5.54% in 2009, 5.55% in 2010, 5.43% in 2011, 5.41% in 2012, 5.42% in 2013, 5.44% by 2014.

Unemployment rate in states of India

According to data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy CMIE 2023, the unemployment rate in states in India is as follows, compared to 8.96% in November 2023, the urban unemployment rate rose to 10.09% in December.

While in rural areas there has been a slight decline from 7.55% to 7.44%. Haryana had the highest unemployment rate of 37.4% in the year 2022. The lowest rate in Odisha was 0.9%.

Even after all this, the Modi government has not taken serious steps to solve the problem of unemployment. The BJP and the Modi government have reached out to the people only with the politics of Congress’s nepotism and the words of scams.

Addressing a rally at Rishikesh in Uttarakhand on Thursday, Modi said the enemy has taken advantage of it whenever a weak government has been formed in the country.

But now Modi has a strong government in the country. For which terrorists are being killed. Today, India has a strong government, so india’s tricolour has become a guarantee of security even in the field of war.

This is a strong BJP government which has given 10 per cent reservation to the poor in the general category. Had there been a Congress government, one post one pension would never have been implemented. Modi has fulfilled the guarantees he has given.

Is the government’s free scheme bringing danger to India?

According to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament, 65 percent of india’s population lives in rural areas till 2022-23. 47 per cent of them are dependent on agriculture. But government schemes have reduced the number of people doing agriculture.

For example assam in north-east India is dependent on agriculture. About 54.11 per cent of Assam’s geographical area belongs to agricultural land and about 70% of the total population is engaged in agriculture.

While the agriculture department’s data shows that there are around 27 lakh farmers in the state, the number of farmers in the state will not be more than 11 lakh at present. But one day the rural economy of Assam was the foundation of the state’s economy. About 20 per cent of gdp came from agriculture. But today is not that day.

Now there is no paddy field like before. Assamese are dependent on free rice. According to the data, about 75 percent of the people of Assam get free rice. Because of which the Assamese do not like to go to the fields and cultivate hard.

According to data tabled in the Central Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda Parliament, the share of agriculture in India’s GDP has come down to 15 per cent from 35 per cent in the last financial year due to rapid growth in the industrial and services sector.
According to him the GDP of agriculture sector was 35% in 1990-91 but in 2022-23 the GDP of agriculture has come down to 15%.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi slams BJP

In 2020, educated youth accounted for 35.2 per cent of the total unemployment. In 2022, it nearly doubled to 65.7 per cent. At present about 30 lakh posts are lying vacant in government offices in India.

As of March 1, 2023, 9,64,359 posts are lying vacant in government departments, according to information submitted to the Minister Jitendra Singh Parliament.

The Modi government had promised to provide 20 crore jobs every year as per its poll promise. But he only created ram temple and various schemes by turning their backs on those promises.

According to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in a media statement, the opposition does not have proper data on how many unemployment numbers are there in the country. What does the finance minister’s statement indicate at a time when the government should have information on how many unemployed people are in the country!

The problem of price rise and unemployment in India

Meanwhile Prime Minister Modi has launched a plan for Viksit Bharat 2047. But so far there is no mention of resolving the problem of unemployment in the country.

The CSDS Lokniti 2024 survey found that price rise and unemployment are on the rise in the country. 75 per cent of the people in the city are struggling with unemployment and price rise.

It has also been said in the survey that the reference to Hinduism and Ram Mandir is only 12 per cent voters in the country ready to vote for the BJP.

Meanwhile, 13 lakh students from India spend crores of rupees to study abroad.

According to US customs and border security, the number of people trying to enter the US through a donkey process in 2023 was 96,917 Indians.

Its number was 30,662 in 2021. Hundreds of thousands of Indians have given up citizenship just for the sake of protecting their families and jobs. But to turn his back on these issues, does PM Modi raise the issue of religion, congress manifesto or manifesto and Muslim league?

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticised the BJP government, saying the current systemic problem in India is unemployment and price rise. For which the public is being exposed. People are fed up with the price rise.

Pm Modi’s face can be seen in the media round the clock. But the Prime Minister has forgotten about the problems of the people. Sometimes if you ask you to play the lamp, sometimes the people ask to turn on the torch lights on the mobile phone. But why not talk about price rise and unemployment in front of the public!
